Acclaimed Vegetable Restaurant Ubuntu Partners with Sonoma’s Famed Scribe Winery for Special Dinner on December 9, 2010
Chef Aaron London and Vintners Andrew and Adam Mariani will Offer an Epic Evening of Artisan Wines and Biodynamic Garden Cuisine at Ubuntu
WHAT: Ubuntu’s Executive Chef Aaron London and his team will work with Winemakers Andrew and Adam Mariani to offer guests a unique dining experience on Thursday, December 9, 2010 that will include produce from both the organic and biodynamic Ubuntu gardens and Scribe’s own vineyard gardens.
Dinner will be served family-style as a prix-fixe menu with selections that showcase the fresh herbs and vegetables of the autumn harvest. Andrew and Adam will discuss with guests each of the four wines to be paired with the meal, including their 2009 Chardonnay ‘Experiment 809,’ 2009 Carneros Chardonnay, 2009 Carneros Pinot Noir, and 2006 Atlas Peak Syrah.
Ubuntu is comprised of three parts: restaurant, yoga studio, and biodynamic garden and has brought together sustainable practices with high-end design in Napa since August 2007. The restaurant features vegetable cuisine with a selection of wines from earth-friendly vineyards.
Scribe Winery is located in Sonoma and began in 2007, when Andrew Mariani and his partners, including younger brother Adam, bought an abandoned 256-acre turkey farm and ghost winery dating back to the 1800s. They currently make around 700 cases of terroir-driven Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
