The history of this farm has always inspired us.
The Mission grape was the first European grapevine cultivated in California but has been rarely planted post-prohibition. We know that it thrived here on the Scribe estate in the 1800s, and we recently found letters from that time detailing the quality of the Mission wines from this property.
In the spirit of curiosity and exploration, we planted two acres of Mission in front of the Hacienda to explore its potential in our era.
This new release marks the first harvest of the wild and rustic Mission vines on the Scribe Estate in more than 100 years.
